About the artists
Henriette Coffez
Henriette Coffez, 03/ 08/ 1925; Royal Academy of Ghent; Royal Academy of Bruges; Artistic Studies in France, Italy, Spain and Greece
Henriette Coffez is a real colourist. Through her fantasies she creates balanced and beautiful paintings and with the delicacy of her imagination she is able to inspire the observer. Using an enormous range of colours and working with hues, tints, original shades, graduations and nuances , Henriette Coffez has created her own combination of colour contrasts which are not always the exact copy of what we observe in real nature. Her works are alive: One moment the colours are sparkling, the next they change into muted hues, then suddenly they become brilliant only to end up hazy and soft.
Through this combination of techniques her paintings always result in a pure and bright composition. By using sloping panoramas and successive ranges of colours the artist has created her own world of flowers, with no rival in the artistic world.
By imbuing her works of art with tolerance and stripping it of all influences she creates a climate and a vision, which embrace kindness and the goodness of life. Her works are cheerful and stimulating and let us discover a world of brightness and warmth. Henriette Coffez's beautiful paintings leave the observer with a feeling of satisfaction and happiness.
